Oralia Dominguez

July 20, 1930 — November 2, 2020

Oralia “Laya” Dominguez entered rest on November 2, 2020. She was born on July 20, 1930 in Fort Stockton, Texas, to Felix Porras and Cruz Franco. She married J.R. (Cuti) Dominguez in 1946. Oralia was widowed at the age of 33. She exhibited great strength and worked extremely hard throughout her life. She was a great cook and enjoyed bringing her family together to feast on her wonderful meals. In her younger years, she enjoyed sewing, embroidering, and even tried her hand at crocheting. She especially enjoyed playing a good game of Bingo! Spending time with her friends and family brought her the most joy. Her family would like to extend a special thanks to the entire Hospice team, especially Monica, Rachel, Lizeth, Veronica, and Lydia, who were constantly available to meet her needs. They are also grateful for the hardworking staff at Focused Care of Fort Stockton, including the heroes working in the COVID unit.

Oralia was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, Downtown Campus, in Fort Stockton, and was a member of the Guadalupana’s Church Group.

Survivors include son Alfredo “Freddie” Dominguez (Juanita) of Fort Stockton, Texas; daughters Anabela Gutierrez (Abel) of Fort Stockton, Texas, Alma Acosta (Ruben) of McCamey, Texas, Adelina Baiza (Randy) of Midland, Texas, and Arcilia Fuller (Nathan) of Kirtland, New Mexico; sisters Aurora Duran and Eustolia Holguin; fourteen grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents and husband J.R. (Cuti) Dominguez; son Adan “Donnie” Dominguez; brothers Manuel Salmon and Abelino Salmon; sisters Elfida Franco and Louisa Porras.
