She grew up and attended school in El Paso, Texas before later moving to Fort Stockton, Texas where she made a home and raised her family. She earned her bachelor's degree from Sul Ross University. She married Isidoro Gonzalez, Jr. in Fort Stockton, Texas on September 6, 2008.

Lilly was a shining example of what it meant to have the heart of a servant. She spent the last two decades of her working life as a counselor for the Pecos County Probation Department. Lilly has been a leader and mentor in the Pecos County Toastmasters since 2003. During her time, she served in multiple officer roles including President, Vice President of Education, Vice President of Public Relations, and Secretary. Lilly held the title of Advanced Communicator Silver and Advanced Leadership Bronze Speaker. Lilly was a longstanding member of People Church in Fort Stockton, Texas where she served as a greeter and on the coffee shop team. Lilly was always very involved in the lives of her children while they were growing up and loved serving as a den mother while her sons were in Cub Scouts. Lilly was a wonderful friend to so many people in the community and has touched countless lives. She will be dearly missed by all she befriended and served.

Lilly is preceded in death by her parents, Antonio and Maria Salas.

Her beautiful life will forever be cherished by her husband, Isidoro Gonzalez, Jr. of Fort Stockton, Texas; children Jonathan Carreon and wife Kendra of Hutto, Texas; Daniel Carreon and wife Reba of Fort Stockton, Texas; grandchildren, Jackson, Maximus, Austin, Alyviah, Addison and Madilyn; and siblings Eduardo Salas and David Salas, both of El Paso, Texas.
