James Castro

James Gilbert Castro Sr. left us to be with Jesus this July 23rd, 2021. He was born on
May 1st, 1966, in El Paso, Texas, to Joseph G. Castro, Sr., and Adelina Castro.
James is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Adelina; and brothers, Joseph G. Castro Jr. and Joel G. Castro Sr.
James is survived by his son, James G. Castro Jr. of San Marcos, Texas; and daughters Jamie Taylor of Cibolo, Texas, JoDale Alvarez of San Antonio, Texas, and Juliana Castro of Tyler, Texas; and brother John G. Castro Sr.
James "Jimmy Dawg" Castro Sr. was born in El Paso, Texas and spent his High School years and most of his adult life in Sanderson, Texas. Following High School, Jimmy lived in San Antonio, Texas where he worked in bridge construction. Shortly after, he moved back to Sanderson where he spent the rest of his working years as a carpenter in the Big Bend region. Jimmy was a true-blue Dallas Cowboys fan, he was proud to have attended a Cowboys game with his niece Jacqueline Castro and her husband, Sonny Urbina. Jimmy was known for loving his Dallas Cowboys, John Wayne, and George Strait. Jimmy passed away peacefully in his home in Sanderson and is now resting with God.


Services were held at the St. James Catholic Church in Sanderson, Texas.
