Verna Upshaw left us to be with Our Lord Jesus Christ on August 14, 2021. She was born on June 23, 1923, in Rotan, TX to Rey Vaughn Kingsfield and Elizabeth Rives.
Verna is preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Upshaw; her father, Rey Vaughn Kingsfield; her mother, Elizabeth Rives; her sisters, Neva Phillips and Lanelle Fillingim; and her grandson, Bryan Slawson.
Verna is also survived by her daughter, Sue Grona and husband Gary of Nashville, TN; her granddaughter, Kayci Harvey and husband Justin of Markham, TX; grandson, Trey Slawson and wife Candace of Elk Grove, CA; great-grandchildren, Seth and Sam Slawson, Abigail and Sydney Slawson, and Hudson Harvey.
The Funeral Service will be on Thursday, August 19, 2021, at 10:00AM, First Baptist Church, Fort Stockton, TX. Burial will follow at East Hill Cemetery.
