Victoria "Vicky" Cypher
Fort Stockton

Victoria Teriong Cypher, 85, went to be with her Lord on Sun., April 1, 2018. Vicky was born April 6, 1932 in Koror, Palau. After spending the majority of her life in Kaneohe, Hawaii, Vicky moved to west Texas in 2008 to be with her family. She loved Fort Stockton and fondly referred to it as a "John Wayne" movie.

In her ten years in Fort Stockton, Vicky touched many lives. She was an active member of the Pecos County Cooking Club, the Catholic church and participated in numerous events where she would often treat everyone to her authentic sushi and other island delights that aren't found in the desert. She catered many a wine party and Black and White Ball alike. She found such delight in feeding people food from her homeland.
Vicky loved playing the ukulele, sharing stories of her youth, but her main passion was jewelry making. She made jewelry for every person who touched her life, her beautiful way of showing her love and appreciation.

Vicky was a devout Catholic using her faith to guide every step of her life. While in Hawaii, Vicky served as an Eucharistic minister for 20 years, visiting the sick providing communion.

In Vicky's diverse, full life, her one true love after God was her grandson, Bradley. The relationship she developed with her grandson was quite unique. She taught him the art of jewelry making, the beginnings of the Japanese language and the love for island food.

A celebration of life memorial service will be Sat., April 28 at the First Presbyterian Church in Fort Stockton. A reception will follow in the Fellowship Hall.
