Timoteo "Tim" Olivas

January 24, 1952 — November 1, 2025

Fort Stockton

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Timoteo "Tim" Olivas, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, who passed away peacefully on November 1, 2025, at the age of 73. Tim was born on January 24, 1952, and spent his life in Fort Stockton, Texas, where he created countless memories filled with love, laughter, and joy.

Tim was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Hortencia "Tencha" Olivas, with whom he shared fifty-three wonderful years of marriage. Their bond was a true testament to love-marked by warmth, strength, and endless cherished moments. Together, they built a beautiful family, and Tim took great pride in being a loving husband and father.

He is preceded in death by his son, Timoteo Olivas Jr.; grandson, Seferino Flores Jr.; parents, Juan and Maria Olivas; in-laws, Trinidad and Olivia Jurado; and six brothers and three sisters.

Tim is survived by his loving daughters Cynthia Sanchez (Jesus Sanchez), Angie Olivas Gomez (Gavino Gomez), and Brenda Olivas (Seferino Flores), who will forever carry his love and lessons in their hearts. He was the proud grandfather of Timothy Robert Garcia, Daniella Gomez, Sally Garcia, Gavino "Spike" Gomez Jr., Thomas Damian Rios, Brianna Flores, Alahna Flores, and Jeremiah Flores. Tim was also blessed with great-grandchildren Amaziah, Aiden, Jaiden, and Esra, who brought him endless joy and pride.

In his free time, Tim found happiness in life's simple pleasures. He was known for his infectious smile, his love for good conversation, and his appreciation of the little things-enjoying a cold beer, dancing with family, and grilling during lively barbecues, always with his famous spicy salsa on the side. His adventurous spirit shone through his love for deer hunting, where he found peace and connection in nature, often sharing those moments with family and friends.

Tim's kindness, humor, and generous heart touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He leaves behind a legacy of love that will forever echo through his family and community.

A public viewing will be held at Heritage Funeral Home of the Big Bend Chapel on November 3, 2025, from noon to 7:00 PM, with a rosary following at 7:00 PM. A Mass in his honor will take place at Saint Joseph Catholic Church on November 4, 2025, at 10:00 AM, followed by a graveside service at East Hill Cemetery. Timoteo will be laid to rest in the town he loved-Fort Stockton, Texas.

Tim Olivas will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. To his family, friends, and community, he was a beacon of love, laughter, and strength-a true reflection of a life well-lived and well-loved.

May his soul rest in eternal peace with the Lord, reunited with his son and grandson in Heaven. Though he is no longer with us, his love will continue to guide and comfort all who were blessed to know him.
