It is with great sorrow and profound gratitude that we announce the passing of Stevens Patrick Forest, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who left us to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on October 7, 2025, at the age of 69.
Born on March 1, 1956, in Fredericksburg, Texas, Steve grew up in the picturesque Texas Hill Country, where his love for the land and wildlife blossomed.Steve's life was dedicated to the ranching industry, where he became a legendary figure in the exotic game business. His expertise and passion for hunting and game management inspired many, and his contributions to the community were felt far and wide. He was known for his big heart and unwavering commitment to giving back, always eager to lend a helping hand to those in need.
His legacy will continue to resonate in the lives he touched. Steve is survived by his beloved grandson, Tyler Hargis, and his wife, Abigail Hargis; his daughters, Ashly Forest and Haley Lehrmann, along with his cherished granddaughter, Maci Lehrmann. He is also survived by his dear sisters, Jan Forest and Diane Cowden, and his niece, Kelsa Cowden.
He was preceded in death by his grandson, Trenton Thomas Friederich, as well as his devoted parents, Vinnie and Reece Stevens Forest.
The family of Mr. Steve Forest warmly invites all friends, loved ones, and members of the community to join them in honoring and celebrating his life.
A public viewing will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at the Sanderson High School Auditorium, beginning at 11:00 AM. The Celebration of Life Service will commence at 1:00 PM. Following the service, the family will receive friends until 8:00 PM.
On Wednesday, October 15, 2025, Mr. Forest will lie in state at the Sanderson High School Auditorium from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 PM at the Stevens Forest Ranch Private Family Cemetery, where Mr. Forest will be laid to rest amidst the land he deeply cherished.
Steve Forest will be dearly missed, and his memory will forever hold a special place in the hearts of those he loved. May his spirit continue to inspire and uplift us all.
