Went home to meet his heavenly Father on February 14, 2017, after a short illness.
Born July 7, 1940 to Ed and Shirleyanna Sullivan in Fort Stockton.
Shirl joined the U. S. Navy after graduating from Fort Stockton High School. While in the Navy Shirl met and married his wife Mary, and have spent the next 56 years together.
Together they not only raised the 5 children, but opened their home to many other children. Their home was always full of their children friends and cousins.
Shirl had the ability to teach the young people around him to have confidence in who they were and their ability to accomplish anything the attempted.
Later on in life Shirl looked forward to an annual family reunion held every Easter weekend, and twice yearly trips to the Rio Grande River to camp and fish.
Shirl is preceded in death by one daughter, Lynnae Sullivan Grandey, his parents Ed and Shirley Anna Sullivan, and two Brothers James O. (Jim) Sullivan and Eddy L. Sullivan.
Shirl is survived by his wife Mary of the home, and children son James (Jim) E. Sullivan� wife Beckie, and two daughters Ashley and Whitney. Children of Lynnae (Sullivan) Grandey, daughter Mallory and son, Gates Grandey. Son, Luke Chipman (Chip), wife Stephanie and two sons Levi and Lucas Sullivan. Son, Matthew Sullivan and daughters Dakota and Brooke Sullivan. Daughter Senthea Clinton, (husband Chris, daughter Darienne, sons Chance and Chase Clinton. Gene Turner, Eddie Black (wife Susan). Brothers: Joe Sullivan (wife Rosalie), Anson Sullivan (wife Linda), Reggie Sullivan. Sisters: Sharon Heard (husband Ivan), Glenda French (husband Buddy), and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers for the family, they would request honoring your own loved ones with flowers or contributions to your preferred charity.
The Family of Shirl Sullivan would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the Cactus Health Clinic and Home Health & Hospice staff for their compassionate care of our loved one.
