Samuel (Sam) Diaz Guadarrama Jr. of Fort Stockton passed away April 13, 2017 in his home, at the age of 74. Sam was born in Sanderson on November 17, 1942 to Samuel Guadarrama Sr. and Consuelo Diaz Guadarrama.
Sam worked for the Firestone Test center for over fifteen years. While there he also worked part time for Central Freight Lines. He then went to work for Central full time. When Central relocated in 1997, Sam went back to Firestone Test Center until 2009 when he retired.
Sam loved camping on the Rio Grande River, fishing at Lake Amistad, hunting on horseback for mule deer in the Big Bend Area, giving tours of Fort Stockton to anyone who came to visit him and playing cards on Saturday nights. He was a family man who was passionate about his family and his friends. He was well known for his big heart, his generosity and his warm and beautiful smile. Anyone who met and came to know Sam loved him. His passing leaves a void in our hearts that can never be filled.
Sam was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Pedro Guadarrama.
He is survived by his wife Ruth Robles Guadarrama of Fort Stockton; his sons Freddy Guadarrama of Odessa and James Guadarrama and wife Sylvia of San Angelo; his daughters Yvette Tyler and husband Eric of Midland, Misty Guadarrama of San Angelo, and Katherine Robles of Dallas; his brother Paul Guadarrama of San Antonio; his sisters Consuelo Guadarrama of Del Rio and Irene Vann of Del Rio; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces.
