Salvador G. Garza Jr.

Salvador “Babe” Garza, Jr., 87, of Sanderson, passed away on Monday, April 8, 2024, in Odessa, TX.

 Visitation will be from 9-10 am, Rosary will be prayed at 10:30 am Monday, April 15, 2024, at St James Catholic Church in Sanderson, TX. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Monday, April 15, 2024, at St James Catholic Church in Sanderson, TX. Burial will follow at Santa Rita Cemetery. Arrangements are by Heritage Funeral Home of the Big Bend.  Salvador was born in Sanderson to Salvador and Blandina Garza on February 14, 1937. He went to school in Sanderson and married Catarina Picaso on May 15, 1971, in Sanderson. He worked as a gas station attendant for many years and later went to work for TXDOT until his retirement in 1999. He was involved in several baseball and softball leagues throughout his life.   He is preceded in death by his parents, Salvador and Blandina Garza, his brothers, Rodolfo Garza and Hervey Garza. Salvador is survived by his wife of 52 years, Catarina Garza, his daughter Anna and John Fehner of Sanderson; his brothers Leonciro and Gloria Garza of Andrews, Carlos and Sylvia Garza of El Paso; his sister Guadalupe and Lonnie Marquart of Houston; his grandchildren, Sean Lopez, Natalie Lopez, Gabrielle Lopez, Dylan Fehner, Brooke and Pierce Fehner; one great grandson, Korbyn Lee Mendoza and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Sean Lopez, Pierce Fehner, Serapio Picaso Jr, Martin Arredondo Jr, Ricardo Picaso, Esteban Fuentes, and Andrew Hernandez.

Honorary Pallbearers are Gerardo Garza, Michael Garza, Lonnie Ray Marquart, Vicente Picaso Jr and Lawrence Galvan
