Roy Glen Smith of Lewisville passed away Sunday, October 16th, 2016, in Lewisville at the age of 58 years. Roy Glen was born on September 29, 1958 to Roy Cecil Smith and Bettie Winget in Crane, Texas.
Roy Glen is survived by his father, Roy Cecil Smith; his sons, Robert G. Smith and wife Lindsey of Lewisville, Steven Craig Smith and wife Jessica of Geneva, AL; his brother, George Smith; his sister, Beth Sheffield; his grandchildren, LeeAnn, Allison, Andrew, Emily.
Roy Glen is preceded in death by his mother, Bettie Smith.
Roy Glen graduated FSHS in 1977. He attended the University of New Mexico from 1977-1979 and played football as a defensive end. He attended Ranger J. College and played football as a defensive end and went to the National Championship in 1979. He attended Cameron University in 1980. Roy Glen worked for Transwestern, Enron, and Florida Gas for over 35 years. He went to work for Dresser-Rand in 2012. Roy Glen enjoyed to fish, hunt, and University of Texas football.
Visitation will be on Thursday, October 20th, 2016, from 5-7pm at Heritage Funeral Home in Fort Stockton, Texas. Rev. Gary Raines will be officiating. Funeral service will begin at 2pm on Friday, October 21st, 2016, at Heritage Funeral Home in Fort Stockton, Texas. Burial will be at East Hill Cemetery in Fort Stockton, Texas.
