Rosemary Graves 85, of Fort Stockton Texas passed away August 7, 2024.
Funeral services for Rosemary Graves will be held on August 17,2024 at 10am located at the First Presbyterian Church with Doctor Jim Miles officiating with Committal to follow at East Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Heritage Funeral home of the Big Bend.
Rosemary lived her entire life in Pecos County. She grew up on a farm in Imperial, Texas. While in school Rosemary was on the state volleyball team and was also a drum major. Rosemary was one of seven children. As a big sister her task was to take of her brother Gerald with whom she was always close. Over twenty years ago her brother Gerald donated his kidney to Rosemary. Rosemary was an excellent patient who followed doctor's orders and lived a long and good life. Rosemary was a good friend with a BIG heart and was also the Queen of Hospitality. Throughout her adult life she enjoyed having friends over for coffee. Rosie and Billy taught dance classes, they loved to dance and were inspiring to watch, they also loved to play Bridge and Dominos. Billy and Rosie would have celebrated 66 years of marriage. Rosemary was an extremely professional and conscientious work who set high standards for herself and others. She was well known for her decades of work being a secretary at Fort Stockton High School and served as the President of Texas Education Secretaries Association. Rosie was a life member of Beta Sigma Phi and volunteered for many causes following her retirement. Later in life Rosie began hosting jewelry parties in people's homes where she made even more friends and made sure they all looked fabulous. Rosie was always concerned with appearances and was a snappy dresser who loved hats.
Rosemary was a proud Memi to 10 grandchildren Scott, Jeana, Paige, Tanner, Brent, Angel, Kurt, Aryn, Cydney and Jesse. Rosemary adored her 8 great-grandchildren Jeanie, Anna, Ruby, Wiliam, Abigail, Juneau, Finneas, Benjamin Ray, and baby Rosie. Rosemary also had 2 great great grandchildren Sunny Ray and Jorja. Rosemary is preceded in death by her husband Billy Ray Graves, parents James Arthur and Catherine Henrietta Borron, sister Kathryn Elaine Woodruff and grandson Roy Lightfoot McClendon. Rosemary is survived by her 3 children daughter Tyla Kay of Fort Stockton, Texas, son Bart Graves of Boerne, Texas and son Marc Graves of Ozona, Texas.
