Robert Porter

Robert Gerald Porter passed away on March 7, 2016 in Iraan, Texas at the age of 83. Gerald was born on March 12, 1932 in Barnhart, Texas to Vester and Virginia Porter. He married Sandra Porter on July 10, 1953. They started their life at the ranch south of Fort Stockton and raised 3 children. After high school graduation at the age of 17, Gerald moved to the ranch and spent 66 years praying for rain, raising family and livestock.
Gerald is survived by his daughter: Sheridan Porter-Purvis husband Wade of Fort Stockton; grandson, Chase; his son: Lane Porter wife Wendy and grandchildren, Levin and Carlie of Fort Stockton; his son: Scott Porter wife Kathy and grandchildren, Makayla and Jordan Mette, Krystal, Raylynn and Michael Davis, Tandra of New Braunfels, Texas; his sister: Lucrecia Porter-Black husband Bob; his brother: Preston Porter and sister in law Billijo Porter
Gerald is preceded in death by his wife, Sandra, of 61 years; his parents: Vester and Virginia Porter and three brothers: James, Owen, and Ellis Porter.
Visitation will be from 4pm-6pm on Friday, March, 11, 2016 at Heritage Funeral Home in downtown Fort Stockton. Graveside service will be on Saturday morning at 10a.m., March 12, 2016 at East Hill Cemetery in Fort Stockton.
