Robert Huckaby

Robert Allen Huckaby of Fort Stockton passed away Friday, August 5th, 2016, in Odessa at the age of 83 years. Robert was born on July 13, 1933 to James G. Huckaby and Ruby Speckles Huckaby in Copeland, Texas.
Robert was a life-long rancher. He loved art and was a well-known artist. He loved fishing. He was married to his high school sweetheart and the love of his life on June 13th, 1952. They were inseparable and his life was never the same after her death. His best friend describes him as "the most honest man he has ever known."
Robert is survived by his sons, Russ Huckaby of Fort Stockton, Kurt Huckaby and wife Michele Huckaby of Fort Stockton, Trent Huckaby and wife Tammy Huckaby of Fort Stockton; his brothers, Jim Huckaby and wife Clara Jo Huckaby of Austin, Doug Huckaby and wife Darlene Huckaby of San Angelo; his five grandchildren; his eight great grandchildren; his one great-great grandchild; and his nieces and nephews.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents, James G. Huckaby and Ruby Speckles Huckaby; his wife, Claudel Huckaby; and his daughter, Jeanette Huckaby.
The Pallbearers will be: Truett Eaton, Tyler Young, Garrett Huckaby, Howard Overby, Darren Huckaby, Neil Huckaby, Michael Huckaby, and John Nelson.
The Honorary Pallbearers will be: Billy Mitchell, Billy Moody, Delmon Hodges, Jesse Young, and his coffee drinking buddies.
Visitation will be on Monday, August 8th, 2016, from 6-8pm at Heritage Funeral Home in Fort Stockton, Texas. Funeral service will begin at 10am on Tuesday, August 9th, 2016, at the First Presbyterian Church in Fort Stockton, Texas. Dr. Reverend Jim Miles will be officiating. Burial will be at East Hill Cemetery in Fort Stockton, Texas.
