Ricardo Emilio Chavez, 51, of Imperial, Texas. Passed away on July 9, 2026 in San Antonio Texas.

Visitation will be from 10 am to 9 pm Thursday 16, 2026 and Rosary at 7pm at the Funeral Home Heritage of the Big Bend.

Funeral services will be held 10am Friday, July 17, 2026 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church with Father Kumar Jujjuvarapu of Good Shepherd Catholic Church officiating. Burial will follow at Imperial Cemetery. Arrangements are by Funeral Home Heritage of the Big Bend.

Ricardo was born in Alpine, Texas to Eduardo Chavez Zapien and Bertha M. Chavez on February 11, 1975. He graduated from Fort Stockton High School.

Ricardo was a volunteer at Imperial Public Library and Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

He received a volunteer certificate from the Imperial Public Library for helping for 3 years.

He loved listening to music, singing, dancing and watching wrestling. He loved animals. He loved hanging out with friends and eating out.

Ricardo is preceded in death by mother Bertha M. Chavez. Ricardo is survived by his father Eduardo Chavez Zapien and siblings Elsa L. Mora, Eduardo A. Chavez, Juan A. Chavez, Cynthia I. Gomez, Raul H. Chavez, Sandra I. Sanchez and Jesus H. Chavez.

Pallbearers will be brothers and nephews.
