Ray Franco

January 6, 1970 — June 8, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ray Morado Franco, a beloved father, brother, and friend, who departed this life naturally on June 8, 2025, at the age of 55. Ray was born on January 6, 1970, in Rankin, Texas, and spent much of his life in Fort Stockton, Texas. Ray was known for his warmth and generosity, and he cherished the moments spent with his family. He was a devoted father to his children and loving brother and son.

In his vocation as a peddler, Ray found immense joy in selling produce, statues, and firewood. His greatest delight came from visiting Alpine to sell at the Farmers Market, where he built friendships with both customers and fellow vendors. Outside of work, Ray had a passion for cooking and barbecuing, and he often expressed his love for “El Programa” on KFST radio. One of Rays other great joys was his morning coffee with his friends.

Ray is survived by his loving mother Rosa, children; Joshua Ramirez (Christina), Tyler Franco, El Rey Franco, Christian Franco, Sebastian Franco, and Kymberly Franco. Siblings: Eddie Franco (Julia), Debra Gonzalez (James), Pat Arrendondo (Mario), Rena Franco, Susie Ortiz (Thomas), Lali Perez (Alex), Bonifacio Franco Jr. (Dilema), Eloy Franco, Mary Colunga (Jose), and Veronica Romero (Jose). Along with his loving grandchildren, Chloe, Evianna Sunshine, Baby Eric, Maite, Jayceon, Jayden along with many nieces and nephews who loved Ray as much as he loved them.

A Rosary will be held on June 12, 2025, at 7:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home of the Big Bend Chapel. Family and friends are invited to a public viewing on the same day, from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM. A Mass in Ray's honor will be celebrated at Saint Joseph Catholic Church on June 13, 2025, at 10:00 AM, followed by a graveside service at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery at 11:00 AM, where he will be laid to rest. Ray's spirit will live on through the love he instilled in his family and friends. He will be deeply missed and cherished by all who knew him. May he rest in peace.
