Ramon Pacheco Sanchez, who left us peacefully on June 22, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on February 15, 1949, in Marfa, Texas, Ramon lived a full life marked by passion and commitment. Ramon dedicated over 35 years of his life to Fort Davis National Park, where he became a beloved figure among his colleagues and visitors alike. His love for the outdoors was evident in everything he did, and he took great pride in protecting the beauty of the park. Before his long and fulfilling career at Fort Davis National Park, Ramon served his country proudly in the Vietnam War from 1969-1971 as a member of the U.S. Army. While Ramon never married and had no children of his own, he cherished his siblings dearly and was a constant source of love and support for them. Those who knew Ramon will remember him as a kind-hearted man with a warm smile and a generous spirit.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr & Mrs. Jose B. Sanchez and brothers, Joe and Henry Sanchez.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his sisters; Ida Apodoca from CA, Rosa Bonilla from Marfa, Grace and husband Stephen Johann from San Antonio, and a brother Alfredo and wife Katie Sanchez from San Angelo.
