Ramon Cortez

Ramon Leyva Cortez of Fort Stockton passed away Friday, January 27th, 2017, in Fort Stockton at the age of 59 years. Ramon was born on June 1, 1957, to Carlos and Maria Cortez.
Ramon worked at the city for 24 years, he was devoted to his family. His hobbies were drawing and enjoyed doing carpentry for his home. He was devoted to the rosary and reading his bible. He was a great fan of the Dallas Cowboys. Ramon was a great son, husband, grandpa, brother, and brother-in-law loved by his family.
Ramon is survived by his wife, Luz Cortez; his father, Carlos Cortez; his daughter, Jeanette Cortez; his brothers and sisters, Marina Adame, Irma Perelas, Ruben Cortez, Laurencio Cortez, Elva Melendez, Julia Ibarra, Mario Cortez, Maria Melendez; and his grandchildren, Jayla Robles, and Jayden Robles.
Ramon is preceded in death by his mother, Maria E. Leyva Cortez
Visitation will be on Monday, January 30th, 2017, from 11-7pm at Heritage Funeral Home in Fort Stockton, Texas. Rosary will start at 7pm at Heritage Funeral Home in Fort Stockton, Texas. Funeral service will begin at 10am on Tuesday, January 31th, 2017, at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Fort Stockton, Texas. Burial will be at the Catholic Cemetery in Fort Stockton, Texas.
