Petra Celaya

Petra Mongarro Celaya of Fort Stockton passed away Tuesday, March 8th, 2016, in Odessa at the age of 65 years. Petra was born on March 31, 1950, to Pedro Celaya and Margarita Mongarro Celaya in Fort Stockton, Texas. She was the caregiver for the children at Butz Elementary School. Her kind and gentle heart caused children to flock to her like a magnet. She was the best sister, aunt, cousin, and surrogate mother to everyone.
Petra is survived by her brothers: Nasario Celaya, Lucas Celaya, and Chon Celaya; sisters: Canuta Dominguez, Lupe Gonzales, Margarita Celaya, and Lucia Scott; uncle: Pablo Mongarro and numerous nieces and nephews.
Petra is preceded in death by her parents: Pedro Celaya and Margarita Mongarro Celaya; brothers: Camilo Celaya, Gonzalo Celaya, and Ramon Celaya and sister Juliana Escareno.
