Pete Terrazas

March 31, 1928 — November 1, 2016

Pete Carrasco Terrazas passed away peacefully at his home on November 1st, 2016, at the age of 88. Pete was born March 31st, 1928, to Guadalupe and Esther Terrazas in Fort Stockton, Texas. Pete attended the schools in Fort Stockton through High school and attended college in San Antonio. Upon returning to Fort Stockton, he started a driver's education school, had his own radio show on KFST and, in 1953, started Terrazas Furniture from which he never retired. Pete fought for fairness in the community throughout his life. He was elected to the school board and eventually served as its President. Pete was also recognized by the community for his contributions to the school, to the city, and to the business community. Pete loved to play golf, loved mariachi music, good food, friends and most especially, his family.

Pete is survived by his wife Amy T. Terrazas; his sons Mario Terrazas and his wife Joyce of Austin, Joey Terrazas and his wife Amy of Austin, Christopher Renteria and wife Sarah of Anchorage Alaska; his daughters Teri Terrazas Graham and her husband Shannon of Austin, Kim Dutchover of Alpine, Beverly Dutchover of Alpine; his grandchildren Zack Terrazas, Courtney Terrazas, Zara Terrazas Graham, Mia Terrazas, Gage Terrazas, Jude Terrazas, Victoria Lancaster, Esteban Maciaz, and many nieces and nephews. His beloved dog, India, will miss him too.

Pete is preceded in death by his parents Guadalupe and Esther Terrazas; and sister Lucy Espino.

A visitation will be held Friday, November 4th, 2016, at 11a.m. to 6p.m at Heritage Funeral Home. A rosary will follow at 7p.m. at Saint Agnes Catholic Church. The funeral service will begin at 3p.m on Saturday, November 5th, 2016, at Saint Agnes Catholic Church. The honorary pallbearers will be Felipe Fierro, Bob Card, Junior Chavira, Jessie Espino, Raul Espino, Robert Sanchez, Fermin Venegas, Tony Villarreal, Carlos Mejia, Fernando Mejia, Sal Salazar Jr., and Ben Gallegos.
