Paula Gonzales

Paula S. Gonzales of Fort Stockton passed away Monday, May 2nd, 2016, in McCamey at the age of 81 years. Paula was born on March 23, 1935, to Faustino Silvas and Herminia Flores Silvas in Sanderson, Texas. Mrs. Gonzales worked as an administrative clerk for the Texas Department of Health. She was a member of the Pecos County Memorial Auxilary "Pink Ladies."
Our Mom, Grandma, and "Tita" was a special and very strong lady. She endured years of physical pain, but our Mom never complained. Mom was an excellent cook and baker, her food always brought our family together. She was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan and she never missed a game on TV. Mom loved all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was proud of them all. Our family will desperately miss her, but we all know where she is now. She's rejoicing with our Dad and sister, Tessie, in Heaven. We love you Mom.
Mrs. Gonzales is survived by her two sons, P.A. Gonzales, Jr. and wife Becky of Crane, and Michael A. Gonzales and wife Carol of Fort Stockton; her daughter, Marta G. Morris and husband Jimmy of Odessa; her brother, Chendo Silvas; her grandchildren Gabriel Gonzales and wife Vanessa of Midland, Brenna Heredia and husband Arick of Kermit, Krystal Gonzales of Fort Stockton, Rachel Gonzales of Crane, P.A. Gonzales, III of Crane, Michael John and wife Berenise of Midland, Bryan Morris of Midland and Emily Morris of Odessa. As well as twelve great grandchildren.
Mrs. Gonzales is preceded in death by her parents Faustino and Herminia Silvas, her husband "P.A." Pascasio A. Gonzales, Sr., daughter Tessie Gonzales, her sister Amelia Velasquez; and her great granddaughter Grace Heredia.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 4th, 2016 from 11am-7pm at Heritage Funeral Home in downtown Fort Stockton. Rosary will be recited at 7pm on Wednesday night. A Mass of Christian burial will take place on Thursday, May 5th, 2016, starting at 10:00a.m., at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Fort Stockton. Burial will follow at the Fort Stockton Catholic Cemetery.
The Gonzales family would like to thank the kind and caring staff of The Mc Camey Convalescent Center, and the staff of Compass Hospice of Midland, for their wonderful care and compassionate understanding with the care of Mrs. Gonzales. Words alone can't express how much we appreciated all that you did for our mother and grandmother.
