Nancy Snailum

August 7, 1937 — November 14, 2017

Nancy May "Calley" Snailum left us this November 14th, 2017. Her life's run began on August 7, 1937 in Pecos, Texas. Born into a ranching family of Floyd Calley and Katherine Brininstool Calley, she grew up on the family ranch south of town and the Collier ranch north of town.
She would marry Darr "Puney" Snailum in the early1960's and spend the next four decades together, first making their home in Pecos, later moving to Fort Stockton to finish out the rest of their lives. She would cherish the move to Stockton if for nothing else but to be close to her childhood friend, Mary Jane Ezell.
Nancy loved to bowl and would spend many years with her many good friends on the circuit. Two that stand out most were Patsy Atkins and Irene Burnham. After she could no longer sling a bowling ball, she took up golf with Puney. Along with these activities, Nancy also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
She is survived by five children, Dwight and wife Pam of Plano, Randy and partner Cathy Walker of Shady Shores, Alan and wife Barbara of Loving County, Mark of Loving County, Darrla and husband Gerardo of Fort Stockton, fourteen grandkids and a batch of great grandkids, even a couple of great greats, numerous nieces and nephews. Also left was a very dear and longtime friend Louise Stephenson. There is not room enough to list the other wonderful friends, but rest assured you are not forgotten.
A service to celebrate Nancy's life is scheduled for Monday, November 20th, 2017, beginning at 2:00pm at Heritage Funeral Home in Fort Stockton, Texas.
Honorary Pallbearers are: Tommy Ezell, Worth Kincaid, Chris Alexander, Michael Pules, Matthew Pules, and Ricky Brenem.
