Michael "Mikey" Cordero

Michael “Mikey” Cordero was born in Fort Stockton, Texas to Miguel and Rosalinda Cordero on April 24, 1987, and was called to his eternal home on April 24, 2025.

He attended and graduated from Ft. Stockton High School. He was a proud graduate of the class of 2006 and was the loudest Panther fan. Michael was married to Stacie Cordero on August 16, 2012, in Ft. Stockton, Texas and was the proudest father to his two beautiful children Evan and Mila Cordero. Early on, he worked with the City of Ft. Stockton but later invested in a career with the Ft. Stockton area TxDot as a general transport tech II and construction inspector for a little over 13 years.

Michael is preceded in death by his paternal Grandparents Emma and Johnny Cordero, maternal Grandfather Ildefonso S. Celaya and Uncle John “Rocky” Dyer.

Michael is survived by his wife Stacie Cordero and children Evan and Mila Cordero, his parents Miguel and Rosalinda of Ft. Stockton, his sister Krystyna Cordero of Midland, Tx., along with 7 aunts, 13 cousins, and many great cousins.

Pallbearers serving will be John John Dyer, R.J. Ortiz, Adrian Salmon, Christopher Stephens, Jevon Everitt, Octavio Contreras, Eric Nunez, EJ Almendarez, Albert Gomez, Adrian Gonzales, Bry Arcides, Nick Perales, Ivan Dominguez, Erik Diaz, Rudy Villareal, Colby Terrazas, Daniel Hernandez, Francisco Cruz.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at Heritage Funeral Home of the Big Bend from 11:00am to 6:00pm. Rosary will be held Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church at 7:00pm. Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at St. Agnes Catholic Church at 10:00am with burial to follow at Fort Stockton Catholic Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to the Senior Class of 2025 who he passionately supported and loved. The family of Michael Cordero wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Mathew Tracy, Pecos County Sheriff’s office, Pecos County Memorial Hospital and EMS, and Father Francis.
