Mary Caldwell

August 4, 1924 — February 27, 2016

Mary Lee Caldwell went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 27, 2016, in Fort Stockton, surrounded by her family, at the age of 91 years. Mary Lee was born on August 4, 1924 in San Angelo, Texas to Fred Davidson and Annie Lee Lewis Davidson.
Mary Lee was a member of Delta Kapa Gamma, Iota Sigma, Local TSTO, Magna Study Club, Hospital Auxiliary, Local Bridge Club, Fort Stockton Literary Club, and participated in The Walk to Emmaus. She was very active in First United Methodist Church and their VBS program. She was a Sunday School Teacher for 40 years. She was elected as a representative to Church Annual Conference three times. She was a First Grade School Teacher for 33 years and then retired from Fort Stockton Independent School District. She was the First Lady of Fort Stockton in 1998.
Pallbearers will be Ryan Caldwell, Jerrico Palma, and Joseph Palma.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Tom Smith, Ray Smith, Fred Smith, Eric Smith, D.J. Mitchell, and Jimmy Stoval.
Mary Lee is survived by her daughter: Cathy O'Connell and her husband John of Fort Stockton, Texas; her son: David Caldwell and his wife Judy of Artesia, New Mexico; her four grandchildren: Ryan, Jerrico, Joseph, and Arielle and her great -grandchild: Malachi Palma.
Mary Lee was preceded in death by her husband: Harper Caldwell; her parents: Fred Davidson and Annie Lee Lewis Davidson and her sister: Anabell Smith.
Funeral service will begin at 2:30 pm on Tuesday the 1st of March at First United Methodist Church with Pastors Neely Landrum and John O'Connell officiating. A Graveside service will follow. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Fort Stockton Library and the First United Methodist Church in Mary Lee's name.
