Mary Mollie Elizabeth Hines Brown was born in Rule, Texas on August 10, 1919 to Frank and Mollie Hines. She grew up in Rule and McCauley in a family of 8 sisters and 2 brothers. She met the love of her life, H.V. Brown from Hamlin, Texas and they were married September 4, 1939. At the end of WWII they moved west to Monahans, Texas and in 1960 moved to Fort Stockton where they lived and raised their 3 children until H.V.s passing in 2006. She was secretary to the Chamber of Commerce of Fort Stockton for 15 years. After her retirement she prepared the history of the Chamber of Commerce for the Fort Stockton Historical Commission. She was active in First Baptist Church of Fort Stockton where she served as a teacher, superintendent, and on many committees. For relaxation she and HV opened in South Fort, Colorado, where she loved the beauty of the outdoors and fishing. Mollie was president of the Pecos County memorial Hospital auxiliary and spent hundreds of hours as a Pink Lady.
Mollie is survived by, sister, Thelma Hines Gosseen of Kansas City son, Mike Brown and wife Gay of Lamesa, Texas daughters, Phyllis Mc Casland of Austin, Texas, Mary Ann Nelson and husband Steve of Selma Texas grandsons, Chris Brown and Shelly of Flower Mound, Texas, Courtney Brown and wife Kristi of Lubbock, Texas, Jeremy Jacobs and wife Julie of Loup City, Nebraska granddaughters, Jessia Jacobs of Selma, Texas, Amy Cureton and husband Ben of Austin, Texas, Michelle Brown and 12 greatgrandchildren and 4 greatgreat grandchildren.
She was deeply loved by each one and will be extremely missed. A visitation took place at Heritage Funeral Home Tuesday, October 21, 2014 from 68PM. A graveside service will take place at East Hill Cemetery, Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at 1pm with Pastor Philip Riegel officiating.
