Maria Franco

Maria "Chila" Lucila Franco of Fort Stockton passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2016, in Odessa, Texas at the age of 87 years. Lucila was born on November 16, 1928, to Jose and Gregoria Velasquez in Fort Stockton, Texas. She loved her grandchildren dearly. They were her pride and joy. She always had a smile on her face and welcomed all into her home to share a home baked dessert made with love and care. Her children and grandchildren will especially miss her delicious, homemade red cheese enchiladas.
Lucila is survived by her son, Simon Franco, Jr. and his wife Janice of Austin; her daughters, Linda Blanco and her husband Luis of Fort Stockton, Gina Rodarte and her husband Zeke of Fort Stockton, Mandy Franco of San Antonio, Carol Garza and her husband Cesar of San Antonio; her brother Robert Velasquez; her grandchildren Jason Franco, Becca Franco, Brett Franco, Adrian Blanco, Erinn Martinez, Josef Benavides, and Bethany Garza; her great grandchildren, Kaden Vasseur and Sophia Blanco.
Lucila is preceded in death by her husband, Deacon Simon C. Franco Sr.; her parents, Jose and Gregoria Velasquez; her brothers, Ismael Velasquez and Ramiro Velasquez; and her granddaughter Anna Marie Benavides.
Visitation will be on Friday, July 1st, 2016, from 11-7pm at Heritage Funeral Home in Fort Stockton, Texas. Rosary will begin at 7pm on Friday, July 1st, 2016. It will be officiated by Reuben Reyes. Funeral service will begin at 10:30am on July 2nd, 2016, at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Fort Stockton, Texas. Burial will be at Fort Stockton Catholic Cemetery in Fort Stockton, Texas.
