Linda Diebitsch

November 1, 1941 — October 1, 2022

Fort Stockton, Texas

Linda Sue (McAnally) Diebitsch passed away on October 1, 2022, in her home surrounded by her family and furry companions.  She was born on November 21, 1941, in Santa Anna, Texas to Carl & Charline McAnally.  She attended school, played basketball, and graduated salutatorian in Balmorhea, Texas in 1959.  While attending Angelo State, on a weekend visit her oldest brother, W.C. introduced her to a coworker named ‘Debo’ who ended up being the love of her life.  On July 21, 1961, Linda Sue McAnally married Donald John Diebitsch.  They worked and made their forever home in Fort Stockton, Texas, where they raised their two daughters.

Lori Diebitsch of Fort Stockton, Texas, and Stacie Phifer (Terry) of Liberty Hill, Texas.  Linda Sue, or Susie as she was fondly called, was an eternal optimist with an infectious smile, always a hello who never met a stranger.  She had a heart of gold and was the Saint Francis of West Texas, caring for all hurt or orphaned animals of any kind that were brought or abandoned at her door.  She loved her life filled with friends and family and cherished being a devoted wife, a loving mother and especially a turbo-charged, extraordinary grandmother to Peyton Gillian Patterson (Miles) and Dalton Debo Phifer, both of Austin, Texas.  Simply put, Susie made life better for all who had the pleasure of knowing her, animal or person, and she will be so dearly missed.

Linda Sue is preceded in death by her wonderful husband of 51 years, Don Diebitsch, her parents, and her brother W.C. McAnally and sister-in-law, Frazee McAnally.

She is survived by her daughters, grandchildren and brothers, Charlie McAnally (Sandi) of Fort Davis, Texas, and Gary McAnally (Linda) of Alpine, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews.
