Lavonne Alexander

LaVonne Alexander of Fort Stockton passed away Thursday, November 1, 2018, at the age of 89 years. She was born on October 25, 1929 in Rosenberg, Texas, to Johnny James Foss and Alma Sabrasula Foss. She attended college at Tarleton State University where she met her future husband, Joe Riley Alexander. They married December 21, 1950 in Houston, Texas. She moved to Fort Stockton where she raised her family. She loved to sew, bowl, play bridge, entertain her friends, and travel. She was involved with her children's lives serving as schoolroom mother, officer in the PTA, pack leader of the cub scouts, and attending all their various activities. She was a member of First Baptist Church and loved attending Paisano Baptist Encampment every summer.
LaVonne is survived by her sons, Clayton Alexander and wife Connie of Midland, Chris Alexander and wife Tracy of Fort Stockton; daughter, Cary Scarbrough and husband Terry of Fort Stockton; grandchildren, Tamara Alexander, Jonathan Alexander, Tye Arnett, Lexi Velasquez, Evan Card; great-grandchildren, Riley Lammerts, Audrey Velasquez, Parker Velasquez, and Olivia Alexander.
LaVonne is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joe Riley Alexander; and brother, Clifford Foss.
Graveside Services will be at 11am on Wednesday, November 7, 2018, at East Hill Cemetery in Fort Stockton, Texas. The Family requests memorials in her name be given to Paisano Baptist Encampment (P.O. Box 973, Alpine, Texas 79831) or Stepping Stone Ministry (P.O. Box 50092, Midland, Texas 79710)
