Obituary

Visitation will be Tuesday, September 1st, 2026 from 4pm-9pm and Wednesday, September 2nd, 2026 from 9am-9pm at the Templo Buen Pastor, 409 W. Division St. in Fort Stockton, Texas. Funeral services will be on Thursday, September 3, 2026, beginning at 10am at Templo Buen Pastor in Fort Stockton, Texas. Burial will follow at Marathon Cemetery.

Elvira H. Ureste of Fort Stockton passed away on Friday August 28, 2026 in Fort Stockton, Texas at the age of 79 years. She was born on August 14, 1947 in Boquillas, Texas to Pedro H. Ureste and Delfina D. Anaya.

Elvira is survived by her sons; Jorge Ureste and wife Paula of Fort Stockton, Texas, Miguel Ureste and wife Veronica of Fort Stockton, Texas, Jesus Ureste and wife Janie of Fort Stockton, Texas, and Manuel Ureste Jr. and wife Yvonne of Fort Stockton, Texas; daughters, Araseli Ortega and husband Florentino of Fort Stockton, Texas, Lucema Jacquez and husband Hervey of Fort Stockton, Texas, Vanessa Pando and husband Isidro of Fort Stockton, Texas, Brenda U. Hewitt and husband Jeromy of San Angelo, Texas, and Belinda Ureste of Fort Stockton, Texas; brothers, Pedro Hernandez, Domingo Hernandez, and Luis Hernandez; her 24 grandchildren and her 19 great grandchildren.

Elvira is preceded in death by her parents Pedro and Delfina, her husband of 56 years Manuel R. Ureste, her children; Joaquin Ureste, Antonio Ureste, Joshua Ureste, and Marisela Ureste, Siblings; Juan Hernandez, Jose Hernandez, Alfonzo Hernandez, Sara Hernandez.

Her pallbearers will be Hector Ortega, Jaden Ureste, Isaiah Ureste, Brandon Ureste, Ishmael Pando, Antonio Garcia, Elijah Pando, and Zayden Garcia.

The family wishes to express their deep gratitude to all those who have shared their sympathy, prayers, and love during this difficult time. A special thank you to Interim Hospice for their care and support of our mom and family every step of the way
