David Paul Brockman

David Paul Brockman of Fort Stockton, Texas passed away December 2, 2023.

Visitation will be Saturday, December 9, 2023, at the Church of Christ 2100 W. 16th street in Fort Stockton, Texas from 12pm-1:30pm. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2023, 2pm, at the Church of Christ with James Ponder officiating. Burial to follow at East Hill Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Heritage Funeral home of the Big Bend in Fort Stockton, Texas.

David Brockman was born January 20,1926 to Emery Clarence Brockman and Sue Bozeman in Brownfield, Texas. He attended school in Johnson school in Brownfield, Texas he attended his elementary years in Quemado, Texas and upper years in Eagle pass, Texas. Later in life he received his high school diploma for Odessa High school through the GED program. David proudly served the United States in World War 2 in the Navy his ship was the USS Facility, it was a mine sweeper. He met the love of his life Ethel in Quemado, Texas. They met May of 1951 and then married August 5,1951 at his mother's house in Quemado, Texas. David farmed in the Coyanosa, Pecos and Quemado area where he planted cotton, he loved animals from chicken to cattle, he had lots of dogs, goats and any kind of feathered fowl. But his true passion was chickens. He worked in the oil field for many years, and then worked for the Texas Highway Department. In 1979, he established Brockman Pest Control in Fort Stockton, Texas He and Ethel sold the business later to their son-in-law and daughter in 1991, he worked for them until 2015 and then later retired, David Brockman enjoyed being outside, loved planting large gardens and trying the different kinds of vegetables he grew. David has been in Pecos County since 1958 he was a faithful member of the Church of Christ, He served as a Deacon for the Fort Stockton Church of Christ where he then served as an elder, also with the Mexico missions, David was also fluent in speaking the Spanish language and loved working with whatever mission was needed. He has his precious Cookie dog that was his constant companion especially the past 3 years she is terribly missing her (Givitis), he would call himself Givitis to her, they were the best of friends, but Ethel was his BESTEST friend.

David Brockman is preceded in death by his parents Emery and Sue Brockman, brothers Emery, Byrl, Joe, Don, Clifton. sisters Roxie Bess Bradley and Imogene Sue Hutchinson, granddaughter Jessica Sue Ponder, grandson David Whitley, son-in-law Harold Kaufman as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

David is survived by the love of his life Ethel of 72 years and 3 months, daughters Brenda Kaufman, Barbara (William) Whitley, Paula (James) Ponder, grandsons Clint (Jessica) Kaufman, David Buck Wiggins, Nathan Kaufman, great- grandsons Tyler Wiggins, Caden Kaufman, Alex Whitley, Jaxon Rawls, great- granddaughters Emma Whitley, Holly Rawls, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Honorary Pallbearers include Tyler Wiggins, Caden Kaufman, Alex Whitley, Jaxon Rawls, Ross Jones, Emma Whitley and Holly Rawls.

Pallbearers include grandsons Clint Kaufman, David Buck Wiggins, Nathan Kaufman, neighbor's Paul Henderson, Kieth Morrison and Son-in-law William Whitley

The family has asked to send flowers or donate to charity of choice.
