Concepcion Rodriguez

December 8, 1932 — January 24, 2019

Mrs. Concepcion "Concha" Valadez Rodriguez, daughter of the late Tomas Valadez and Juanita Gallegos Valadez was born December 8, 1932 in Alpine, Texas. She was united in holy matrimony to Thomas Hartnett Rodriguez in April of 1951. This union was blessed with five children. Tommy H. Rodriguez preceded her in death in April of 2011.

Mrs. Rodriguez was an active member of the St. Agnes Catholic Church Choir and a member of the Guadalupanas. She was known for her ease in frequent conversation with total strangers who would become friends for a lifetime and she possessed a contagious smile and an entertaining sense of humor. Throughout her life she maintained a sweet and simple demeanor that won the trust and hearts of many, who even now are being changed by her witness of constant nurturing love and faith. Her signature gift of joy, shown through her constant smiling, laughter, and joking around, will never be forgotten. She faithfully cared for family and friends through delicious cooking and baking - no one could compare to Grandma's cooking. A woman of faith and the heart of the Rodriguez family, Concha shaped their spirituality by her tireless Christian example. With a real zest for life, Mrs. Rodriguez loved to dance, sing, pray and play cards, chat with friends and family, and travel...just to name a few. She quietly departed life Thursday, January 24, 2019 in her home. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Laura Molina; daughter Annaliza Sullivan and Brothers and Sisters.

She will forever be cherished in the lives of her children, six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren: Letricia Slater (Daughter), Charles Slater and Ethan Sullivan of Fort Stockton, TX; Jennifer Rodriguez Gonzales (Daughter) and Stephanie Nicole Elmore of Fort Stockton, TX; Michael Rodriguez (Son) of San Angelo, TX; Theresa (Daughter) and Julian Gonzales of Albuquerque, NM; Rick Molina (Son-In-Law) of San Antonio, TX; Freddy Valadez (Brother) of Virginia and Thomas Valadez (Brother) of Las Cruses, NM. Unfortunately too many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and God-children to list or even count.
