Concepcion Martinez Gomez

On May 26, 2024, Concepcion (Chon) Gomez passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. Chon was born on Dec 08, 1934, in San Benito, Nuevo Leon, Mexico to Seberino and Jesusita Gomez.

 

Visitation will be Thursday, May 30, 2024, at 12:00PM – 7:00PM at Heritage Funeral Home of the Big Bend 301 N. Main St. Fort Stockton, Texas 79735. Recitation of rosary will be at 7:00PM also at Heritage Funeral Home of the Big Bend.   Funeral mass will be Friday, May 31, 2024, at 2pm at St, Joseph’s Catholic Church 403 S. Main St. Fort Stockton, Texas 79735.

 

He migrated to the United State at the age of sixteen to work with his family. Chon was a hard worker and was always ready to help anyone that needed it. Chon worked on farms and ranches. He also worked for the City of Uvalde and finally retired from working with Pecos County.  In 1963, he married his wife Frances O. Esparza of Uvalde, Texas. Between them, they raised four children teaching them how to be responsible hard-working adults. He also made sure they understood that if they started something they finished it. After his wife Frances O. Esparza passed away in 2007, Chon found a new partner in life, Delma Diaz Lopez. Together they enjoyed sixteen memorable years. Between the two of them they had eight children. Chon is survived by his older sister Fidela Gomez, his loving wife Delma Diaz Lopez, his daughter Frances & Rosco Armstrong and her two children, Cruz and Deandra Gomez and their two children, Carlos and Cindy Gomez and their two children and his daughter-in-law Cynthia Gomez and her three children. He is also survived by his stepchildren, Eddie Leyva, Judy Leyva-Marriott (Peter), Miguel Leyva and Angie Leyva. He had numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

 

Chon is preceded in death by his wife Frances E Gomez, Parents Seberino and Jesusita Gomez, son Concepcion (Chon) Gomez Jr. from Imperial and numerous brothers and sisters.
