With profound sorrow, yet with hope in eternal life, we announce the passing of Catarino Garcia, who entered into the presence of the Lord on March 19, 2026, at the age of 92.

Catarino was born on December 14, 1933, in Boquillas, Texas. His parents were Macedonio Garcia and Barbara Trejo. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Chelo Rodriguez and Juana Rodriguez; his brother, Thomas Rodriguez; and his beloved wife, Manuela Ureste Garcia.

Catarino was a man of strong character, firm principles, and unwavering faith. He spent many years working as a roustabout until his retirement, always showing dedication and hard work to provide for his family. Although his absence leaves a great void, we find comfort in knowing he now rests in the peace of the Lord, as Scripture says: "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die." (John 11:25)

He is survived by his brother, Rumaldo Garcia and Sister Carmen Garcia; his children, Jose Garcia and Maria del Carmen Garcia; his grandchildren, Elvia Sanchez, Miriam Garcia, Joel Garcia, and Josue Garcia; his great-grandchildren, Desrea Carrillo, Damian Carrasco, Danessa Carrillo, Ivan Carrasco, Deandrea Carrillo, Derek Garcia, Anthony Carrasco, Daniel Sanchez, Davien Carrillo, Ava Garcia, Lluvia Carrasco, and Ellie Garcia; as well as his great-great-grandchildren, Andres Silvas Jr. and Davina Moraga.

The viewing will be held on Thursday, March 26, from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at Heritage Funeral Home on Friday, March 27 at 10:00 a.m., officiated by Jesus Guevara. Burial will follow at East Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Joel Garcia, Josue Garcia, Derrick Garcia, Beni Carrillo, Damian Carrasco, and Ivan Carrasco.
