She was the loving daughter of Millard and Bea Winget. Bettie married Roy C. Smith in Grandfalls, TX. June 28, 1957. She was a homemaker and stayathome mom until 1968. In 1968, she became owner and operator of The Steak House restaurant until it sold in 1979. She prided herself on having the best food establishment in West Texas. She assisted her mother in managing The Sunday House Inn for a while. She was an advocate for CASA, American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, and Alzheimers Groups. Bettie was on the selection committee for picking Paisano Pete Roadrunner and a member of Beta Sigma Phi from 1974 to 1978. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Fort Stockton, TX for many years. She dedicated her life to helping many from the church and community. She was loving and caring to all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Millard and Bea Winget, and her brother, Morris Earl Turner.
