Anjel Urias Castro, 65, of Fort Stockton, TX, passed away on August 18, 2026, in Odessa, Texas.
Visitation will be on Sunday, August 23, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a Rosary 7:00PM at Heritage Funeral Home of the Big Bend.
Funeral Mass will be held Monday, August 24, 2026, at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Francis Njoku officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Arrangements are by Heritage Funeral Home.
Anjel was born in Fort Stockton, Texas to Salvador R. Castro, Jr, and Juanita Urias Castro on July 7,1961. He graduated from Fort Stockton High School.
He worked as a Security Supervisor for Allied Universal Security for many years. In his youth he was active in church ministries; starting as an altar boy at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, then went to play the guitar for all the searches. CYO groups and church choirs.
Anjel is preceded in death by his father Salvador R. Castro, Jr.
Anjel is survived by his mother, Juanita Castro, his brothers Armando “Mondie” Castro (Maria). Leo Castro (Judy), Salvador Castro, III (Lorie), Israel Castro, his sisters, Maria Castro and Amy Castro, and numerous nieces and nephews, His extended family includes Joshua and Kyla Branum, along with Kaley Branum, Jaden Branum, Melonie Branum, Blake Branum, and his best friends Lyzz Paredes and D’Alice Belanger.
Pallbearers will be Jaedon Chacon, Andrec Chacon, Stefan Castro- Del Bosque, Aaron Castro, Jason Castro, Jonathan Castro and Nathan Castro.
Honorary Pallbearer will be Blake Branum.
The Castro family would like to extend our deepest thanks and appreciation to the doctors and nursing staff at Odessa Medical Center, as well as the doctors and nurses from Hospice of Midland.
