Alicia Gonzalez Valenzuela passed away Saturday, August 8, 2015, in Fort Stockton at the age of 91 years. Alicia was born on June 20, 1924, in Buena Vista, Texas to Juan and Eliza Gonzalez. She was a homemaker and was a part of the Catholic Church. She enjoyed working with the past funeral meals committee, the Guadalupana-Celadora, and the Sagrado Corazon de Jesus.

Alicia is survived by her two daughters, Ramona V. Saavedra and husband Ruben, and Ribia V. Gonzales and husband Ricky; daughter in law Anita V. Valenzuela of San Angelo; her sisters, Frances G. Casas and Jessie G. Mesa of Fort Stockton, Dorothy Stokes of Abilene, TX, and Maria Reyes Sanchez of San Angelo; eight grandchildren, James S. Valenzuela, Rosemary V. Saavedra, Ricky V. Gonzalez who live in Ft. Stockton, Cathy Kirkpatrick and husband Rod, Andy Valenzuela and wife Sarah of Austin, Ruben V. Saavedra and wife Jenny of Leander, TX, Renee Rivera and husband Francisco of Midland, and Ryan V. Valenzuela and wife Heather of San Angelo. Her great-grandchildren, Daizy Johnson, Kobe and Kaia Saavedra, Kobi Byrd, Daniel B. and Jaci Valenzuela of Fort Stockton, Alex, Zach, and Josh Kirkpatrick, Parker, Charlotte and Jake Valenzuela of Austin, Julia and Ryann Saavedra of Leander, Joe Daniel and Jonathan Rivera of Midland, Cole and Aubrey Jo Valenzuela of San Angelo and R.J. Johnson of Ft. Stockton.

Alicia was preceded in death by her father Juan R. Gonzalez; her mother Eliza Gonzalez; her husband Daniel M. Valenzuela; her three sons, Daniel, Joe, Johnny Valenzuela; daughter Rosemary G. Valenzuela; her four brothers, Pedro B., I.B. Sr. (Isidoro), Froilo Sr., and Manuel Ismael Gonzalez; her sisters, Guadalupe G. Urias, and Emma G. Ramirez; and her in laws, Olga S. Valenzuela and Delma G. Valenzuela.

Visitation will be on Wednesday August 12, 2015 from 11a.m. to 9p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home in downtown Fort Stockton. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday night. A Mass of Christian burial will take place on Thursday morning, August 13th, 2015, starting at 11 a.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fort Stockton. Pallbearers will be James Valenzuela, Andy Valenzuela, Ruben Saavedra, Ryan Valenzuela, Ricky Gonzales Jr., Rod Kirkpatrick, Francisco Rivera, and Carlos Plascencia. Honorary Pallbearers are Alex, Zach and Josh Valenzuela, Kobe Saavedra, Joe Daniel and Jonathan Rivera, Daniel B. Valenzuela, and Parker Valenzuela. Burial will follow at Fort Stockton Catholic Cemetery.
