Alex Marquez, 37, beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, entered into eternal rest on September 23, 2025.
Alex was born on May 21, 1988, in Fort Stockton, TX, to Onedimo and Hilda Marquez. Alex was known for his big heart, gentle spirit, and the love he shared so freely with everyone around him. He had a special way of making others feel seen and valued, and his warm smile and kind nature touched the lives of all who knew him.
Alex poured his love into his nieces and nephews, taking joy in every moment spent teaching, laughing, and creating memories together. He enjoyed playing tennis, strumming his guitar, and sharing his hobbies with others — especially when it meant teaching a new song or challenging a family member to a friendly game. Alex was a proud Red Raider, and his hard work earned him a place on the Dean’s List at Texas Tech University.
Alex’s passing came suddenly following unexpected health issues, leaving a deep void in the hearts of his family and friends. He will be forever remembered for his generous heart, easy laugh, and the love he gave so effortlessly.
He is survived by his parents, Onedimo and Hilda Marquez; brothers Jeff Corean (Erin) and Angel Marquez (Roxana); sister Alynn Lopez (Anthony); and his cherished nieces and nephews: Kaitlyn Lopez, Aidian Lopez, Adisyn Lopez, Valeria Marquez, Angel (nickname-Tony) Marquez, and Emilia Romero.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 29, 2025, at Heritage Funeral Home of the Big Bend from 9:00 AM to 6:30PM. The Rosary will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 7:00 p.m., followed by a Mass on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with burial to follow.
Alex’s love, laughter, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
