Felicito Granado

Felicito T. Granado, Jr. entered rest on Sunday, November 17, 2019, at the age of 85. He was born December 25, 1933, in Fort Davis, Texas. Mr. Granado was preceded in death by his parents, Felicito and Margarita, brothers Gilbert Granado and Mario Martinez, and sister Candida Talavera.

At 17, Felicito joined the United States Marine Corps and served during the Korean War. In 1956, he moved back home from California to Fort Davis where he later met the love of his life, Arabella Salgado. They were married on February 2, 1958 and started their family. In 1965, he moved his family to Fort Stockton where he worked in construction and later worked as the produce manager at Safeway. He later went to work at Valero and retired as a Measurement Tech. Retirement was not for him and he later went to work at Sandridge Energy for several years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and a friend to all. He will always be remembered for his sense of humor which he maintained until the end. A five-dollar bill was his trademark, as he would make sure to bring one for each of his great grandchildren on his frequent visits. Cookies, candies, and sweets were always available when “Popo” was present. Carpentry and woodwork were two of his main hobbies throughout his life.

He is survived by his wife, Arabella, of Fort Stockton, sons Robert Granado and husband Gary, of San Diego, California, David Granado and wife, Lidia, of Odessa, Texas, daughter Bella Blackwell and husband David, of Plainview, Texas, sisters Marylou Baeza and Aurora Martinez, grandchildren J.D. Granado, Kristen Valeriano, Jennifer Coleman, and Sanissa Ramirez, great grandchildren Chloe, Tatym, and Emeri Dawn Granado, Aubrielle Cortez, Caden Coleman, Damien Coleman, and Saige Coleman.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 20, 2019, from 1-7PM at Heritage Funeral Home, 301 N. Main, Fort Stockton, Texas with Rosary at 7PM. Service will be held Thursday, November 21, 2019 at 10AM at St. Agnes Catholic Church also known as Our Lady of the Guadalupe North Campus, with burial to follow in East Hill Cemetery, Fort Stockton, Texas.
