Domingo Fabela

It is with great sorrow, sadness, and heavy hearts that the family of Domingo Velasquez Fabela must announce his passing on Monday August 5, 2019 at Medical City Hospital Dallas Texas. He was 82 years of age.
He was a longtime resident of Ft. Stockton Texas born December 20, 1936 he was also better known as Mingo to family and friends. He came from a family of 13 which included 7 sisters and 5 brothers. He officially married Senaida Garcia Primera on October 29, 1956 and married through Saint Agnes Catholic Church on August 21, 1964. In his younger years Mingo enjoyed and played several instruments but was exceptional at playing the saxophone and was a member of the Blue Lights Tejano band and later played with the band Generation Gap. He enjoyed listening to Tejano music and to his grandchildren as they played their musical instruments for him.
Mingo was preceded in death by his father and mother Francisco Fabela, Romana Fabela, 2 sisters Herminia Fabela Fuentez, Virginia Fabela Alfaro 2 brothers Oscar Fabela and Frank Fabela. His beloved wife Senaida Primera Fabela in August of 2010.
Mingo will be missed by his surviving siblings which include 5 sisters 3 brothers; Victoria Rios, Aurora Chavez, Olga Machuca, Armida Fabela, Patricia Fabela-Ingram, brothers Juan Velasquez Fabela, Fidel Fabela and Sam Fabela.
Mingo will be lovingly and forever remembered by his surviving children; Jose Luis Fabela and wife Josie from Ft. Stockton Texas, Selia Fabela Holloway and husband David living in Azle, Texas, Domingo Fabela Junior and wife Maria living in Farmers Branch Texas, Javier Fabela and wife Nora living in Euless Texas and Niece/Daughter Audra L. Perez and husband Genaro living in Ft. Stockton Texas along with 20 grandchildren 26 great grandchildren and 1 great Greatgrandchild.
Viewing will take place Thursday August 8, 2019 between 11:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. Rosary will follow starting at 7:00 p.m. lead by his niece Anna Fuentez at Heritage Funeral Home of the Big Bend 301 N. Main Street Fort Stockton Texas. A mass service will be held on Friday August 9, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Downtown Campus, 403 S. Main street.
